Best LUTs for iPhone: how to choose

"Best" depends on your footage, not the promo reel. Use this checklist before buying any pack — ours or anyone else's.

  1. Right input version. Apple Log (15/16 Pro) and Apple Log 2 (17 Pro) need different LUTs; normal video needs Rec709. Many packs only ship one.
  2. Skin tones. Test on a face in mixed light; good LUTs don't push skin orange.
  3. Highlight roll-off. iPhone skies clip easily — look for soft highlights.
  4. Works where you edit. .cube works in Blackmagic Camera, Final Cut, Resolve, LumaFusion and CapCut desktop.

Are LUTs worth it?

If you shoot Log, a good LUT saves the grading step on every clip. If you shoot normal video, a subtle Rec709 look is enough. Free option: Log → Rec709 LUTs.
